NADAL&OLAZABAL, SOLIDARITY GOLF
Rafael Nadal, world figure tennis, and Jose Maria Olazabal, international recognited golfer, have decided to unite in order to support refugees, children and youth at risk of social exclusion through an initiative now in its third year, Olazabal & Nadal Invitational by Pula Golf Resort, competition whose proceeds will go to improving the lives of these people.
Both athletes are challenged on the green in a tournament that also will be supported, in the kitchen, by international chefs such as Las Vegas chef Julian Serrano, and Macarena de Castro and and Santi Taura from Mallorca.
The tournament, PRO-AM, will host great golf figures of world, also attached to this charitable cause, which will support projects developed by the Rafa Nadal Foundation and Sport Mundi, by Jose Maria Olazabal.
The entities that preside the two Prince of Asturias Awards have a common goal: combating social exclusion and helping the most disadvantaged or with some kind of disability. The Foundation of tennis allocate the funds to the Foundation Center Rafa Nadal, the first project of its own organization, in which education and the transmission of values is provided through sport for children and young people from Palma de Mallorca living in situations socially disadvantaged. In the case of the founding of the Basque golfer, it will support the activities being developed by Caritas, both in Spain, as in Syria, Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon, to meet the refugees with emergency aid.
The competition will take place in Pula Golf Resort, the renowned course designed by Jose Maria Olazabal, in the place where Rafael Nadal was born. The two athletes, along with national and international players and amateurs, will again show his best game for those most in need.
