WELCOME BACK TERRACES!
Playing golf in Madrid is always a delight! And even more when you know that after enjoying some time on the golf course you are going to end up sitting in one of the most spectacular terraces of all Europe. We might not have a beach in Madrid but we do know how to have fun, that’s for sure! During the following weeks we will suggest some of the best terraces in all Madrid. Don’t miss them!
Today we are going to explore terraces within gardens. When you think of a terrace in Madrid maybe the first thing that comes up to your mind is a rooftop terrace (we will talk about them too) or a table in the middle of Plaza Mayor. But what you didn’t know is that you can actually find charming spots where you can let yourself have little break.
Let’s start with one of my favorites: Arzábal is the name of the new restaurant inside the Reina Sofía Museum (Santa Isabel, 52 Edificio Sabatini, MNCARS / Avda. de Menéndez Pelayo, 13). Iván Morales and Álvaro Castellanos are the minds behind this spectacular idea. My suggestion is to go past sunset and experience the light effects, after you’ve had a walk through the museum to see, specially, the Guernica painting, one of the most important pieces of art of Spanish history.
Central Garden (C/ Pez Volador 11, Ayre Gran Hotel Colón), its also a wonderful choice, even though you might have already been there, because it has reopened with a new design, with the sponsoring of Freixenet. Thanks to them you can feel like having a drink in Ibiza! Their specialties are the miniburgers and super innovating salads.
If you are the kind of person that your mood is in harmony with the season that we are in you must try El Jardín del Intercontinental (Pº de la Castellana, 49). Its chef modifies the menu depending if we are in enjoying the summer, winter, autumn or spring. During this spring Miguel de la Fuente, restaurant’s chef, has delighted us every weekend with succulent brunches inspired on Paraguayan gastronomy, Katara – a Middle East region – or our very own holidays such as San Isidro or mother’s day. Cant wait to see with what surprises is he going to amaze us.
Not many people now this, but there are 1000m2 of pure vegetation inside the very heart of Madrid. This intimate environment is placed inside the Miguel Angel’s Hotel (Calle Miguel Angel, 29-31). Now that the heat is really coming, you can chill under their pergolas and humidification system tasting one of the best Mediterranean cuisine. You’ll be charmed by the nuances, aromas, flavors in the food and wine; and, without a doubt, the gorgeous environment.
These are just a few options. But remember that Madrid has so many things to offer, from shows to sports events, from terraces in gardens to finding them up on the best rooftops of the city. A city where you will be able to do anything that you are capable to imagine.
